The Modern Library 100 Best Nonfiction (Editorial Board Picks)
    (As of: 30-Apr-1999)

The Modern Library was founded in 1917 to publish the world's best English language books. After incorporating in 1925, The Modern Library started Random House as a subsidiary to publish, "at random," other books that interested the publishers. The rest is history. In 1998, the Modern Library began a project to identify the "100 Best" books published in the English language since 1900. Shown below are the 100 Best Nonfiction books as picked by the Modern Library Editorial Board.
