Steve Loyola |
Steve founded Best Web Buys in July 1997 and has been its primary architect
and developer. He has 14 years experience leading software development
projects in a variety of domains. He recently served as Director of
Research and Development for an Internet technology company in Silicon
Valley that focused on supply chain management. Most of his career has been
spent at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he has led many software
development projects, including a paperless materiel acquisition system,
three modules of the largest Oracle Financials re-engineering project in
the country, and various Deep Space Network and Space Station scheduling
and forecasting projects.
After receiving a B.S. in Biology from Caltech, Steve earned two Masters
degrees: Computer Information Systems from Claremont Graduate School and
Computer Science from U.S.C.

Audrey Gubler |
Before joining Best Web Buys, Audrey spent two years at Andersen Consulting
evaluating their $100M training program. She was responsible for the
evaluation of large-scale training programs including on-line classrooms
and multi-media products. Audrey's expertise includes the use of
statistical and qualitative analyses to assess participant satisfaction and
learning effectiveness. Prior to Andersen, she worked as a consultant
evaluating projects for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Junior Achievement,
the Utah State Office of Education, and the National 4-H Association.
Audrey's degrees include a B.S. from UCLA, an M.S. from Brigham Young
University, and a Ph.D. in Research and Evaluation from Utah State
University.

Sugi Sorensen |
Sugi joins Best Web Buys from JPL, where he worked for 10 years as a
Systems Engineer, Information Systems Manager, Technical Supervisor,
and Web Developer. Before leaving JPL, he led the re-design and implementation of
JPL's intranet website as part of JPL's Knowledge
Management project. He also led and managed a team of web and multimedia
developers that worked on over five dozen web sites and several CD-ROMs.
Before that, he led the design and implementation of a web-based document management
system used by over 3,000 JPL engineers, scientists, and other employees. Sugi also is Owner and Chief Consultant
for Allegro Media, a web design
and consulting business he started in 1996.
Sugi received a B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College
and attended Indiana University for graduate school.

David Werntz |
David has 14 years experience leading a diverse array of software
development projects. Most recently, he has been engineering lead on two
Oracle applications projects, one for JPL and currently for Caltech. The
JPL project was a 3 year, $50M effort, replacing all of JPL's
administrative systems, including financials, purchasing, asset management,
human resources and payroll. He served as the manager of underwriting
product development for Filoli Information Systems in Palo Alto. David has
taught computer science courses at Pasadena City College and UCLA
extension. In his spare time, David built and maintains the Best Bike Buys
web site.
After receiving a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from Caltech at
the age of 19, David earned a Masters degree in Computer Information
Systems from the Claremont Graduate School.
