ALTADENA, CA, April 29, 2002 - Best Book BuysTM (www.bestbookbuys.com), a leading online book comparison shopping site for college students and a service of Best Web Buys, announced today the company's second annual scholarship contest to be awarded to the six college students who write the most compelling essays on "What book should our political leaders read and why".
Best Book Buys will award the writer of the essay deemed most compelling with a $1500 scholarship and will also award $300 scholarships to the five runner-ups. The essay contest begins today online and will continue until December 15, 2002. The winners will be announced on March 11, 2003.
Best Book Buys expanded this year's scholarship program from one scholarship to six following last year's program that received 11,388 college applicants.
The essay contest is open to undergraduate or graduate students in good standing attending an accredited college or university in the U.S. or its territories sometime between August 1, 2002 and February 1, 2003.
